Sustainable Development Goals

Working Together for a Better Future

In our pursuit of creating a sustainable society for our region and the well-being of children, each member of the Chukyo TV Group is reflecting on what they can do individually and working together with everyone to take action.

Message from the President

We, the Chukyo TV Group, have joined the SDG Media Compact and actively participate in corporate activities to address social issues.

In particular, we strive to embody the concept of "contributing to the creation of a sustainable society" in our broadcasting and business endeavors.

The rapid acceleration of global warming poses a significant crisis for humanity on our planet. The sheer scale of the challenge often leaves us uncertain about where to begin, and we question whether our individual efforts can truly make a difference.

Through our broadcasts, we aim to accurately convey the reality of the environment. Moreover, we actively engage in actions such as energy conservation, planting, and plogging, not only for fun but as responsible activities. Our goal is to contribute to the formation of a sustainable society.

Together with all of you, we will contemplate and embrace the SDGs policy of "creating a future that is both interesting and beneficial."

President of CHUKYO TV. BROADCASTING CO., LTD.

Head Office Building Switches to 100% CO2-Free Electricity

Starting October 1, 2022, our head office building will switch to 100% CO2-free electricity*1 supplied by Chubu Electric Power Miraiz, virtually eliminating the building's annual CO2 emissions of approximately 2,349 tons.*2

*1 CO2-free electricity is an optional electricity rate plan allowing customers to use electricity generated from 100% renewable energy sources. Renewable energy sources do not emit CO2 when generating electricity, making them a more sustainable option.

*2 Calculated based on the CO2 emission coefficient (0.388 kg-CO2/kWh) of Chubu Electric Power Miraiz Co., Inc. in FY2021, based on the amount of electricity used in FY2021 (approximately 6,055,000 kWh).

Donating Food to Second Harvest Nagoya Food Bank

Chukyo TV has proactively stored food as part of our disaster preparedness plan. We have decided to donate them free of charge to Second Harvest Nagoya, a certified non-profit organization engaged in food bank activities in the Tokai region of Japan. We signed the agreement on October 19, 2021, and will continue this sustainable effort moving forward.

Plogging

Plogging is a recent fitness activity that blends jogging with trash pickup. It promotes a healthy running routine and eco-friendly waste collection, contributing to addressing environmental issues while fostering positive interactions.
Chukyo TV Group has been organizing plogging events twice a year, collaborating with local companies and other organizations. We are committed to maintaining this initiative and expanding our partnerships to further promote this SDGs sport.
